Interpretive Hikes -- Birding
Description: Presque Isle has been
recognized as one of the top 10
birding
sites in the nation. See and
learn about the variety of birds in their
natural
habitats through observation
using tools used in the field such as a
spotting
scope and binoculars. From
waters edge to climax forest, explore the habitats
that the birds
that call home. This program will teach students how to use field
guides and field equipment to
identify birds while in the field
Students will take note of characteristics and adaptations that
allow the birds to survive in their habitats.
