Interpretive Hikes -- Forest
Description: White tail deer, raccoon,
weasels, and coyotes are just
some of
the animals that live in the forests of
Presque Isle. Learn how
the forests
came to be at the peninsula and the
important role they
play
in the natural
world. Students will walk on interior
trails, explore
the diversity of flora and
fauna, and use forestry tools such as tree borers, tape measures
and bug boxes.
From Tree canopy to forest floor students will
investigate how the balance of nature works.
